#HappilyEhrettAfter

John and Mackenzi’s wedding was a dream. From the moment we rolled up to the breath-taking manor to the last handful of rose petals tossed at the exit, I knew that this day was one to treasure for a long time. Aside from the excitement of photographing an absolutely wonderful bride and groom in a gorgeous location, it was also a blast getting to interact with the wedding parties. The ladies were warm and inviting and the men kept us laughing with their jokes and crazy poses. Lively wedding parties have the power to turn portrait time into a party, and these guys did not disappoint. 🙂

While I had seen John and Mackenzi happy together at their DC engagement session a few weeks before, I would estimate that they were smiling 10 times more on their wedding day (which I didn’t realize was even possible!). The bride and groom’s joy was echoed through the smiles on the faces of the many people who came to celebrate the couple. It’s safe to say that all the guests had a wonderful time celebrating John and Mackenzi’s love throughout the evening. The happiness, the awesome people, the partying – these are the reasons why I adore being a wedding photographer.

Congratulations to you both, John and Mackenzi! Your wedding was absolutely lovely – enjoy the highlights below!

Then it was time for the First Look
(I absolutely LOVE it when my couples decide to go for a first look! If you want to know why, just keep scrolling through these photos 🙂 )

Even though the rain had just about stopped for the day, we had to snag a couple of classic umbrella shots!

Wedding party time!

I can’t stop laughing every time I look at these photos. These guys were the absolute best.

(And sometimes as the photographer, you just take the photo requested without asking too many questions…)

After the portraits, we returned to the manor and I met the Ring Master. He certainly knew what he was doing as this was his third time presenting rings at a wedding ceremony by the age of six!

And so it began….

And they were married!

After the family formals, we had some time for some “Just Married” shots. I don’t think I’ve seen either of them smile as much as much as they did then. 🙂

Reception Time!

Toasts by the wedding party.

First Dances

Then the dance floor opened for the rest of the night and the party never stopped!

The CUTEST cake topper I’ve seen!

After hours of dancing and merriment, it was time to wish the couple farewell

Congratulations again, John and Mackenzi! Praying for the Lords’ blessing upon you marriage for the rest of your days.
