It feels like I have known the Sweeney family longer than I really have because within that short amount of time, they have become my adopted family. Ryan and his parents introduced me to them early on in our dating relationship and I instantly fell in love with their happy, witty, faith-filled household. We’ve shared many a celebration together including Thanksgiving, birthdays, Mother’s Day, and wedding days. After Ahna (and the rest of the Sweeneys) pulled off my own wedding, it felt completely right for the McDonald Clan to photograph and help orchestrate Ahna and Matt’s special day. 🙂
August 11, 2018 – a beautifully perfect day. Ryan and I started by meeting them at the first look location after they got ready in separate locations. All four of us kept rejoicing at the fact that the thunderstorm clouds kept at bay, allowing us to photograph the two lovebirds to our hearts’ content. After couple, wedding party, and family shots, it was time to head on to the church and get them hitched!
Matt arrived first, allowing us to snap a couple groom portraits before his lovely lady appeared.
Meanwhile, the beautiful bride arrived on location…
Take a look at that bouquet!! Ahna’s Mom grew most of the flowers herself and arranged all the florals. She did a fantastic job, don’t you think?
The First Look
So. Much. Love.
Even though the rain held off for us, we took some photos with the clear umbrella because Ahna and her grandmother shared a special bond over Singin’ in the Rain. I love everything about that movie and these two <3
Exchanging gifts
After a nice lunch break, we headed to the church ready to capture the rest of the day.
Ceremony time!
This was the most unique and breathtaking flower girl entrance I’ve ever seen! Ahna’s cousin is a ballet dancer and did an amazing dance down the aisle
Best. Reaction. Ever.
Mr. Sweeney’s face says it all:
10 minutes later, the bride and groom reentered and kicked off the reception with some awesome moves!
All the siblings kicked off the dancing for the rest of the night!
The Dream Team!
Toasts by the best man and maid of honor
I loved this idea! Instead of just tossing one bouquet, Ahna threw dozens of flowers to all the lovely ladies in the crowd. So sweet!
But all too soon, it was time for the celebration to come to an end…
Congratulations again, you two! Love you both so much and cannot wait to see the amazing things God has in store for your marriage.
