I remember waking up in (what seemed like) the middle of the night, wondering why my alarm was going off. It took me a second to realize that it was an intentional alarm and that I needed to get going so I could catch the morning’s first rays among the cherry blossom with Esther! While sunrise sessions are difficult on the sleep schedule, every photo is always 1000% worth it in my opinion, especially when you can explore one of the prettiest places in DC with way fewer tourists.
Esther and I had a great time wandering around the Jefferson Memorial, catching the sunshine before it dipped behind some clouds and enjoying the warmth of the spring air. We also got to watch and wave to the participants in the Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run, but I was mostly glad to be taking photos and not running around the city. 😉
I can’t wait for another season of cherry blossoms right around the corner, and I’m praying that we will be able to enjoy the beauty of it all mask-less this year or next!
This Florida-native loves her green backdrops, so we were sure to stop and take some photos next to the awesome pines next to the memorial. I absolutely love the pop of color the trees gave the photos!
Esther has the sweetest smile and the happiest eyes. Every shot of her laughing makes me smile instantly!
Thank you Esther for a lovely morning in DC with the cherry blossom. So thankful to have had such a cheery subject, especially so early in the morning! 🙂
