I think it’s safe to say that family photoshoots at the Oatlands Historic House and Gardens in Leesburg is my favorite spot in NOVA right now. Every time I get a glimpse of that mountain view… ah, my heart. Then put a beautiful family in front of it like the R family and then it’s absolute *chef’s kiss*
Meeting Katie, Eric, and Wes was a delight. The whole family was super calm and laid back, which is always impressive to me when there’s a toddler involved! We roamed around the gardens, even popping in for a minute into the greenhouse before we remembered why greenhouses exist (it was HOT inside). But the best moment for me was when we came across a patch of wildflowers tucked far behind the main gardens at Oatlands. Katie and Eric were down to jump into the patch, making all of my wildflower dreams come true!
Also, if any of you are trying to take notes on what to wear to your family session – LOOK NO FURTHER. Katie did a fantastic job of matching the boys’ outfits to the colors in her dress, and overall the color palette is so pleasing to look at – in person and in the photographs.
