I’ve got my love to keep me warm – Dean Martin
One of the hardest parts of photographing sessions in the wintertime is the inability to reschedule sessions if the weather decides to throw a curveball. In Chris and Meridian’s case, we only had a short window of time in our busy schedules to photograph their engagement photos before the holiday season. As the set date drew closer, I kept refreshing my weather app, hoping that it would magically cause the day to warm up a degree or two. The day before the session arrived, and while the rain/snow decided to stay at bay, the forecast showed that the temperature would stay below freezing the entire day.
Ooph. Talk about a tough situation. We couldn’t reschedule very easily and I didn’t want to put my subjects in the freezing cold!
So I started chatting with Meridian about it, and to my delight, both her and Chris were 100% down with taking the pictures in sub-freezing weather! So we moved forward with the planning and met up the next day for their engagement photos at Morven Park.
They ROCKED it! I am so pleased with the way their session turned out despite the chilly weather. Just looking at the photos, you can’t tell that we were shivering between shots and doing jumping jacks to keep our circulation going. Meridian and Chris were such a blast to photograph, and this engagement session only fueled my excitement for their upcoming wedding in June (which should be much, much warmer than this session 😉 ). Thank you both for being awesome to photograph, and more importantly, awesome friends.
Enjoy the photos below!
Congratulations to you both! June is going to be AH-mazing. <3
